(1) Element Filtering in EnSight 10.1 (4:00)
EnSight 10.1 has an enhanced “Element Filtering” capability, allowing for multiple variable filtering of the domain in a single, reversible process. The new Element Filtering works on Model Parts for both nodal and elemental variables, with multiple variables combined via various Comparison and/or Boolean operations.
(2) Case Linking Basics in EnSight 10.1 (6:26)
EnSight 10.1 has a new “Case Linking” capability. This new capability links all calculator and part creation/modification operations between cases, so that user only works with one model, and the operations are dynamically linked and updated through all other cases open. The tutorial introduces some of the basics of this capability, along with some tangible enhancements to productivity when comparing results from multiple cases. All cases must currently have consistent part list and variables. Up to 4 cases are currently handled.
(3) Force Summary Tool in EnSight 10.1 (2:38)
In EnSight 10.1, we have included a User Defined Tool for automatic calculation and reporting of forces. This utility uses basic calculator functions, but has options to work on a part list (and report forces on each part separately), as well as operating on both pressure and shear force generation.
The Display attributes of Particle Traces (streamlines and pathlines) have been augmented in EnSight 10.1 to allow for several new capabilities. This short tutorial demonstrates the basics of the new capabilities to (a) hide individual traces; (b) coloring each the traces by unique colors; (c) specification of a constant color on specific traces; (d) changing the display of the streamlines to be round tubes.
Some very useful improvements in the right click capability for queries and plotters have been developed in EnSight 10.1. In this short tutorial, we demonstrate the ability to automatically organize the plotters as well as saving off plotters to their own image file. For queries, the ability to take save multiple queries to CSV files in one step is now available when multiple queries are selected. Finally, if you have transient models, with queries vs. distance, the new save capability will now write all timesteps’ worth of queries into a single file, allowing a single step to save complex transient queries to text files.
