221 Goodbye.

ERRORS:
If you don’t set mode to passive, or if you don’t cd pub/incoming’ then you’ll get the following error when you
try to ‘put myfile’.

553 Could not create file

DETAILS:
The hostname of our FTP server is ftp.ensight.com.
When prompted, login with the username
‘anonymous’ (without the quotes) and your email address for the password.
After logging in, type ‘cd pub/incoming’ to place the files in the
proper subdirectory.  Next type ‘put myfile’ to send ‘myfile’ to our server.

If you don’t cd to the proper directory you will get an error.

If the files are binary, be sure to send the files in binary mode. The
FTP command ‘bin’ should toggle this on.

Our FTP server only supports passive transfers. If you are not
set to ‘passive’ you may get an
error when you attempt to send (typically an ‘Illegal PORT Command’ error)
or you may not even be able to login to our server.
If you have these problems, try beginning your session as follows:

ftp

>> passive
>> open ftp.ensight.com

Once files are on our server, they can not be seen, changed, renamed or
deleted for security reasons. If your file tranfer fails during the
send, you’ll need to send your file the second time with a new name as
you cannot overwrite the previous file.

Consider zipping up or tarring and gzipping up associated files into
a single archive and sending the archive. It’s faster and easier to
keep everything together.

Don’t forget to send email to support@ensight.com once the files are there.
